Jubel x New World Trading Company

About Jubel

JUBEL beer is a high-quality, fruit-infused beer with three flavour profiles; peach (hero), grapefruit and elderflower. Prior to joining OTC, they had no presence in the north of the UK, having concentrated their sales on the south of England. New World Trading Company is a Manchester-based flagship pub and bar group with over 30 sites under various brands located nationally, including the 25-strong Botanist brand.

How OTC supported Jubel

OTC handled the full customer-facing journey from initial brand reach out, sampling, presenting, supplier fulfilment and ultimately the sign-off. Pre-outlined brand desirables and commercials from JUBEL enabled the OTC team to work quickly in outlining venue support and submitting a final proposal ahead of its due date.

Securing a major listing

JUBEL now has their first premium, high-visibility and high-volume national group account based in the north. OTC were able to secure a listing for JUBEL in the 25-strong Botanist brand, which has 25 venues, mainly in the north-west of England, but also stretching out as far as Cardiff, Suffolk and Devon. Channelling volume through an existing distributor and strengthening the JUBEL brand footprint within the distributor’s

The results

NTWC and their suppliers estimate that JUBEL will sell approximately 2.5 cases per week, per venue which amounts to 62 cases per week in total. JUBEL is now a permanent printed menu feature, featuring prominently on the beer menu.

Cracker Drinks x Prezzo

About Cracker Drinks

Cracker Drinks are a premium not-from-concentrate fruit juice brand. The core range consists of orange, apple, cranberry and pineapple. Other ranges include a cloudy lemonade and Newtons which is similar to Appletiser except with 30% less sugar. Prezzo is a prominent high-street casual dining brand with 151 restaurants located throughout the UK.

How OTC supported Cracker Drinks

Prezzo were taking tenders for their new menu in early 2022. OTC did some research and identified a gap in Prezzo’s lemonade offering. We were able to work with the team at Prezzo, and managed to get the cloudy lemonade into five drinks within the current menu to be served in all 151 restaurants.

The challenge

Prior to joining OTC, Cracker Drinks had no presence in casual dining venues, having previously focussed on retail and pubs for their on-trade sales. They wanted to strengthen their presence in restaurants, and open themselves up to a new market which would also produce high-volume sales.

The results

Since adding Cracker Cloudy Lemonade to the menu in the spring, Prezzo have had to adjust forecasting three times throughout the summer with each restaurant currently selling through an average of three cases per week – 450 cases per week total.

Joos x Brewdog

About Joos

Joos is a cost-free, revenue-generating solution to low battery, which allows customers in venues to charge their phone. This comes at a small cost to the customer, which drives revenue and no obligation for the host venue, as the customer is able to take the charging station away with them. The venue also acts as a drop-off point for charging stations, which are widely-available across the UK. Brewdog is the number one craft brewer in Europe, with 76 venues and hotels located in the UK.

How OTC supported Joos

OTC approached Brewdog’s Head of Beer and Systems with a proposal to install Joos power stations into their venues. We argued that as well as seeing an increase in revenue from the power banks, they would also see an increase in customer dwell time because patrons would be staying in the venues for longer and spending more money. We were able to secure Brewdog as a major listing for Joos in every venue across the country.

The challenge

Brewdog had a powerbank solution in place but were experiencing insufficient account management from their supplier. They were also seeing missed and untimely revenue share payments, meaning they weren’t seeing any return on investment. Their Equity Punks members access their benefits through a mobile app, which in turn drives a need for phone charging facilities in their venues.

The results

Brewdog has experiences some fantastic results on the back of installing Joos power stations:

  • 5,000 power banks have been rented by patrons and staff
  • Brewdog has experienced 10,388 hours of increased dwell time per year
  • It is estimated that this increased dwell time has contributed £25,970 of added customer revenue per yearÂ
